The D.C.-born, L.A.-based duo Nadastrom come from different backgrounds, but share a ravenous appetite for extremes. From producing classic genre bending club anthems to techno groovers, and as the prime architects of moombahton, the duo have been praised in the pages of Spin and Rolling stone, pumped on the airwaves of BBC Radio 1 and NPR, and revered at nightclubs and festivals across the planet.

When the two came together in 2007, the chemistry was instant and the music was colossal. The group signed to Switch’s Dubsided label where their debut EP, “Pussy,” immediately topped the charts on Beatport. Since then, Nadastrom have produced tracks for a slew of artists, including M.I.A., and have done remixes for Kid Cudi, Benny Benassi, Christina Aguilera, Waka Flocka Flame, the Death Set and Alex Clare.

In 2010, the duo relocated from Washington to Los Angeles and since then they’ve hit the road, performing at the biggest festivals in dance music, including Australia’s Creamfields festival with Deadmau5, the Disco Biscuits’ Camp Bisco festival, Movement Detroit, Electronic Daisy Carnival with Dubfire and Ritchie Hawtin, Ultra Music Festival with Sven Vath and Boys Noize, Fusion Fest in Germany, the Red Bull Culture Clash in Miami, Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival with Salva and Pete Tong, the Mad Decent Block Party with Major Lazer, numerous HARDFEST runs with Dirty Bird’s Claude Von Stroke and Justin Martin, Brodinski, Gesaffelstein, L-Vis 1990, Kingdom, Skream, Duke Dumont, Flying Lotus and Odd Future, continuous world tours with Skrillex and his legendary Mothership Tour, and international tour runs with Aloe Blacc and Benji B via Los Angele’s The Do-Over.

Meanwhile, their “Moombahton Massive” parties with partner DJ Sabo had become a movement of its own, with Nadastrom serving as the genre’s leading ambassadors and teaming up with other influential artists such as Dillon Francis, Munchi, Buraka Som Sistema, Toddla T, Schlachthofbronx, Toy Selectah and Mixpak.

Nadastrom has always been about moving the crowd through music exploration and developing positive relationships with like minded people from all over the world. To quote George Clinton, “One nation under a groove.”

When he wasn't watching Japanese tuner videos and playing Super Nintendo, Jelani was busy dancing in his bed room to his mom's old New York house records. Always fascinated by a good groove, Jelani took up DJing at 15 and never looked back since. The real pivotal moment however came when he found an old ESQ-1 synthesizer being thrown away in Detroit. "I locked myself in my room and obsessed over this thing for hours, always trying to figure out how to get new sounds out of it." Now, after years of working behind the scenes, rocking nightclubs, and sponging up every lesson he could from his heroes, he's on a mission to make the techno he's been training for his whole life.
