Squarepusher is the principal pseudonym adopted by Tom Jenkinson, a UK-based recording artist. His compositions draw on a number of influences including drum and bass, acid house, jazz and electroacoustic music. His recordings are typified by a combination of electronic sound sources, live instrumental playing and digital signal processing. Now, Jenkinson is set to return with his first album since 2012’s ‘Ufabulum’ LP – ‘Damogen Furies.’ According to Jenkinson, the forthcoming album will explore “the hallucinatory, the nightmarish, and the brutally visceral capacities of electronic music.” Over the last decade Jenkinson has worked to build his own music creation software, and all of the productions on his latest record are said to have been created in one take (without any edits) using that system. ‘Damogen Furies’ drops on April 20 via Warp.
