MUTEK San Francisco closes with Experience, a day-into-night extravaganza featuring two stages of music and a slew of interactive artworks throughout our partner venue The Midway. The festivities begin with Indy Nyles, Roche, Christopher Willits, and Christina Chatfield performing lush ambient music inside Envelop SF, an immersive listening space within The Midway. The patio will soon light up as San Francisco’s Solar & C.L.A.W.S. start the party, followed by a live set from reclusive artist Convextion and DJ sets by contemporary electro leader 214 and Honey Soundsystem’s Jackie House. In Gods & Monsters inside The Midway, audiovisual performances by Article C, Braille & Chelley Sherman, and Foozool will give way to upbeat rhythms to end the festival on from 8ULENTINA, Siete Catorce & Pecco, Matias Aguayo, and Telefon Tel Aviv.
Numerous artworks will be stationed throughout The Midway, offering festivalgoers the chance to interact and explore. “Binary Garden 2” by Marpi and “Lux Aeterna” by Joey Verbeke and Yağmur Uyanık will fill the Gallery; “iAltar” by Brian Reinbolt, “Immersive Constructions” by Last Faith Studio, and “Chamber of Cerebral Geometry” by Craig Dorety will be located in the Artists’ Studios; and “Blueprint” by Joanie Lemercier and James Ginzburg will be showcased in the Lab.
Throughout the day into evening, food will be served courtesy MUTEK.SF’s special guest chef, Oakland’s Preeti Mistry, who launched Juhu Beach Club, was recently nominated for a James Beard Award, and is renowned for her fusion of Indian culture and flavor with French culinary tradition.
