Ego Trip: Ooah + Boreta, YokoO, Rybo, Lubelski + more
Mysterious shapes and patterns form on the horizon. Aurora lights illuminate the frozen night with an imaginative glow you can almost touch. A wandering mind has brought you here, searching for a place you were told was near. Follow the moonlight musk to where crystals turn to stardust. There, beyond the turquoise lake, an Arctic Oasis promises to warm your soul awake.
On Saturday, December 9th we invite you to dream with us in an Arctic Oasis at Spin.
Escape the cold in our decadent hideaway and explore three floors of music, live art, craft vendors and performances guaranteed to excite the creative soul. Debuting their newest side project, we are thrilled to have OOAH & BORETA of The Glitch Mob join us to explore the rhythmic future of sound. Then, retreat into the ethereal grooves of YOKOO and discover that we can indeed dream all day and night. While the night is still young, get lost in the eclectic world beats of JEREMY SOLE and then warm your desert heart with friends to the trippy energetic tech grooves of RYBO and LUBELSKI.
So, put on your frozen winter’s finest and join us merry wanderers of the night, and wonder -- “Are we awake, or do we dream?”
As always, we invite you to come as you are, but of course, we encourage you to express yourself inside of this decadent winter fantasy <3

-- OOAH + BORETA --
Ooah (Josh Mayer) + Boreta (Justin Boreta), two-thirds of the electronic live trio The Glitch Mob, continue to propel forward into 2017-2018 .
Boreta + Ooah, alongside edIT, founded The Glitch Mob in 2006, and have since established their pioneer status in electronic music. In addition to The Glitch Mob, Ooah and Boreta have now stepped out with a new side passion project revolving around their deep love of house and techno.
-- YOKOO --
YokoO is no stranger to house music in all its deepest forms. A studio head in the true sense of the word, he spends much of his time pondering basslines and warm synth riffs that heat up dancefloors the world over. With releases on highly regarded labels such as All Day I Dream, Musik Gewinnt Freunde, Kindisch, Get Physical, Moodmusic and Plastic City, YokoO has marked out a spot for himself in the global house music scene with talent being sought after from every corner of the world.
As a DJ, YokoO embraces the dancefloor with a dynamic and honest approach sparking it up with forward thinking music every time. When you see him play, you can see a genuine love for what he is doing and that naturally feeds back to his audience, fuelling energy and the fever of the dancefloor. The warm melodies work with the heavy basslines to create a unique sound that is deep but still pumping enough to get a party started . . . and going way past sunrise.
-- JEREMY SOLE --
Jeremy Sole is on a mission to show how music is a singular universal language, and that each culture’s rhythms and melodies are no more than slang--different accents of the same mother tongue. His DJ sets, remixes and original compositions juxtapose world sounds and experimental beats into a sonic ritual - a celebration of life out loud.
As a teenager, Chicago-born Jeremy Sole's loft parties were a culture clash of creative youth. Jeremy's upbringing was seeped in the rich Chicago history of Blues, Jazz, Disco, Deep House and Soul - and he
reveled in that sacred space where they all blend together. He expanded as a turntablist in Jazz, Dub, and experimental hybrid bands. Meanwhile his collection and performances grew to include music from
every country in the world. In 2001 Sole moved to Los Angeles, and with his broad musical palette, felt right at home in the spiciest melting pot in the U.S.
Sole spent most of 2006 in the studio producing with Ms. Lauryn Hill. After hearing him mix, she asked if he had ever considered getting into radio, "because this is the music the people need to hear”. A few
months later, KCRW called to ask him that exact same question, and he agreed to join the ranks of what New York Times dubbed the "most influential radio station in the country,". You can tune into Sole
every Wednesday at midnight in Los Angeles on 89.9 KCRW (or worldwide, streaming and archived at www.kcrw.com/jeremysole).
-- RYBO --
If there’s anyone who knows how to throw the dance floor into complete mayhem, it’s Los Angeles-based DJ RYBO. The young, up-and-coming house prodigy has been a staple member of the Desert Hearts family for the past three years, taking part in not only the festival itself, but also a number of one-off parties, showcases, and City Hearts tour stops.
With every performance, his reputation proceeds him as he’s able to bring forth a legendary amount of energy and infectious spirit behind the decks that are primed for late-night debauchery. Just this year alone, he’s traveled and performed at Ocaso Music and Art Festival in Costa Rica, BPM Festival, and most recently during the Gari Safari party during Miami Music Week. The artist has also collaborated on a number of tracks with underground house talents Mikey Lion, Kevin Anderson and Matt Ossentjuk. With more performances and music in sight, expect to see RYBO elevating himself to new heights in the months to come.
-- LUBELSKI --
Lubelski is a multi-instrumentalist, electrical engineer, and house music artist from Los Angeles, CA. With psychedelic sounds, fun vocals, and house grooves in mind, he continues his endeavors into the strange world of modular synthesis, sampling, and the everlasting groove from his Los Angeles apartment with a view of a sweatshop.
He has put out tracks on a number of labels with standout releases on Desert Hearts, Nervous Records, Nite, Popgang, and Sweat It Out. He has also started a label, Room Temp, which he co-runs with Fritz Carlton, Ghostea, Kevin Anderson and Rybo.
