Common Ground 3Yr w/ Downtown Party Network
Thank you everyone that made it out for the Akbal Music Showcase featuring Miguel Puente! A great big thank you to Miguel, Martin, Luis, and Elz for the great tunes. Such a wonderful evening of music and smiles. And thank you party people for without your support, none of this would be possible.
Throughout this project I have questioned myself and wanted to give up on more than one occasion. I have tested friendships, lost money and have severed ties with incompetent agents which who I will never work with again (unless they want to apologize). I have had barely anyone show up to some of my events due to circumstances beyond my control and have felt like a total failure.
But through this all I have also learned from my mistakes, made new friendships, heard and danced to some of the worlds most amazingly talented DJs and producers and seen my guests smile, laugh and dance till the nightclub shut down and had to almost physically kick us out.
The good times have definitely outweighed the bad ones and its these times that have reminded me why I do this. its not because of the money or the recognition. Its not because I get to DJ, which I seldom do at my parties. But I do it because of you, the people that are willing to take a chance and discover new music with us. Without you I would have given up a long time ago but with your support I'm proud to say we have made it 3 years this October.
Happy Anniversary, Common Ground and cheers to all you party people giving me the strength to continue this on!!! October 16th, 2015, lets all come together, find some Common Ground and make this a night to remember.
I love you all and see you on the dance floor!
Up Next we have our Common Ground 3 Year Anniversary featuring Downtown Party Network from Lithuania.
Downtown Party Network might once have been a short yet magical period of New York City nightlife. Today the name stands for music from another side of the world, an entity combined of experiences, influences, events, trips and adventures in music that have come together during the last 15 years.
Downtown Party Network’s music has been signed by Dirt Crew, Futureboogie, Silence Music, Get Physical Music, Eskimo Recordings, Noir, Needwant, Compost, Future Classic, Best Kept Secret, Anjunadeep to name a few. The releases have been favorited by Laurent Garnier, Groove Armada, Tensnake, Dixon, Ame, Aeroplane, Jamie Jones, Sasha and many others.
Downtown Party Network has been established in the remix world as well, and has presented swell versions of tracks by Kolombo, Sander Kleinenberg featuring Jamie Cullum, Mario Basanov etc.
‘Space Me Out’, released in October 2013 by Silence Music, became one of the most charted tracks on Resident Advisor in 2013, by far the most important electronic music platform in the world. Mario Basanov, Hannes Fischer and Musk accompanied the original track with brilliant remixes. Each of them received a significant amount of attention, as well as a melodramatic music video that was filmed in spooky Lithuanian nature.
2014 began with a 10” vinyl and digital release ‘In The Air / Call On Me’ on the Berlin-based house label Dirt Crew. A pace for the summer was set by ‘Disco Ball Drama’, a release on Futureboogie Recordings. Also a new version of ‘Space Me Out’ was revamped and presented exclusively on ‘Deep House Amsterdam’ just before ADE and a brand new remix of the worldwide hit, crafted by the legendary producer Ewan Pearson, has been included in the vinyl and digital release for the 5th anniversary of Silence Music.
San Francisco’s OM Records released Downtown Party Network’ remix of ‘All Night’ by Sleight Of Hands on their compilation ‘Architects & Waves’. And the new remix for Rob Garza of Thievery Corporation was presented early this summer.
Also in the news: ‘Space Me Out’ will be released in autumn of 2015 on Anjunadeep label with new remixes. And a new track ‘Inch of Light’ will be released on german Dirt Crew imprint.
Downtown Party Network’ gig geography ranges from London to Berlin, Moscow to Dubai and San Fransisco to Playa Del Carmen.
